Casarrubias, Intimidators Beat BlueClaws, 12-5
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Kannapolis Intimidators take on the Lakewood BlueClaws.

With designated hitter Sandy Casarrubias leading the charge, the Kannapolis Intimidators defeated the Lakewood BlueClaws, 12-5, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Casarrubias, who leads the SAL in hits with 126, went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 4 times and drove in 4. Pat Cerniglia got credit for the save for Kannapolis. It was his 2nd of the year.

With Kannapolis trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Casarrubias hit a knuckle curve from Ian Zirlott for a 3-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Intimidators ahead, 6-4.

"We're producers not directors," said Casarrubias. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."

Kannapolis is now 69-56, Lakewood 54-71.
