Skidding BlueClaws Lose 7th Straight
|
Greensboro Grasshoppers starter Pedro Ramos was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Lakewood BlueClaws, 3-2. The win was credited to 21-year old left-handed pitcher Ricky Rosales in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Jim Unknown took the loss. Greensboro is 4th in the Northern Division with a record of 68-58.
Had Jose Aguilar not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Aguilar hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Grasshoppers.
"I'm happy we won," said Ramos. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
