Tourists Lose as RiverDogs Stage Late Rally
|
The Charleston RiverDogs finished things off in style.
Charleston pinch hitter Ray Roach was instrumental in helping the RiverDogs triumph, 6-3, over the Asheville Tourists. Roach was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The RiverDogs now have a mark of 40-87.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Charleston trailing 3-2, Roach jumped on a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher James Parsons and hit a grand slam home run to left. With one swing, the RiverDogs had a walk-off win.
"This place was rockin'," said Roach.
