Baysox Drop Fightin Phils, 5-2

The Bowie Baysox earned a win at Prince George's Stadium, stopping the Reading Fightin Phils, 5-2. Starting pitcher Sam Leonard played a big role in his team's success. Dave Escobar earned the save for Bowie. Bowie, now 15-3, has played well in the early going.
Alex Melendez had a big 2-run home run for the Baysox in the bottom of the third inning. With Bowie leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Dominguez and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Baysox on top, 4-0.
"It's always extra special to win at home," said Melendez.
