RubberDucks Stop Baysox, 5-2
|
Akron turned a good performance from starting pitcher Kevin Rice into a 5-2 triumph over the Bowie Baysox at Prince George's Stadium. The winner was Rice. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Nick Keane. Bowie drops to 14-4.
Akron used the clutch hitting of Daniel Burhoe to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the RubberDucks the lead, 4-2. For the game, Burhoe had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Burhoe.
