Lakewood had no answer for West Virginia Power hurler Victor Gonzalez, who overwhelmed BlueClaws hitters as the Power coasted to victory, 8-1. Gonzalez picked up the win for West Virginia, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 6-6. David Nisly earned the save, his 25th, for the Power.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Juan Ramos? The West Virginia right fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Power on top, 3-1. For the game, Ramos had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
