Tourists Snag 4-1 Win
|
Asheville Tourists starter Justin White pitched his team past the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 4-1. Asheville, at 50-78, holds down 6th place in the Southern Division.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Ryan Williams came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Greensboro pitcher Alfredo Concepcion, he hit a first pitch sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Asheville on top, 3-1.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Williams told the Asheville Herald.
