Sawtell Leads Columbia Past Greenville
The Columbia Fireflies topped the Greenville Drive, 6-1, in South Atlantic League action at Spirit Communications Park. The standout performance belonged to Columbia pitcher and Elgin, Illinois, native Pat Sawtell. The win gives Columbia a season record of 83-46.

Sawtell overpowered the Drive. The Columbia right-hander allowed 6 hits over 9 innings, while recording 12 punchouts. With the win, he is 5-2 on the season.

"Got a lot of swings and misses today," said Sawtell.
