Kannapolis picked up a win at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, bumping off the Lexington Legends, 4-2. Pitcher Jesus Lopez was a major reason the Intimidators emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Lopez, now 9-3. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. Mike Grupe closed the door for Kannapolis, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

Mike Grupe recorded a big out in the bottom of the ninth. The Legends were trailing 4-2, but Lexington had a runner on 3rd with one out. Grupe threw a 0-1 sinker to Tyler Hill, who flied out.
