Valverde Sizzles in No-Hitter
In a dominant outing, Elias Valverde of the Hagerstown Suns totally silenced the bats of the Kannapolis Intimidators, finishing with a no-hitter.

In the Suns' 3-0 victory, Valverde faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.

"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Hagerstown manager Mark Holgate said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."

Commenting on the defeat, losing manager B.J. Sabol told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.

"The Suns had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Valverde pitched a heck of a ballgame."

This year Valverde has compiled a 8-5 mark with a 2.61 ERA.
