The Delmarva Shorebirds locked up a win at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, knocking off the Augusta GreenJackets, 4-1. On the mound for Delmarva was right-hander Vince McMillion. He played a major role in the triumph. Delmarva, at 77-54, holds down first place in the Northern Division.

Had Mike Todd not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Todd hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Shorebirds.

"Vince pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Delmarva manager Tom Phillips.
