Fireflies Outdo GreenJackets in Extra Innings
The Columbia Fireflies picked up a win at Spirit Communications Park, taking down the Augusta GreenJackets, 4-3, in 11 innings. On the mound for Columbia was right-hander Jared Kosub. He played a central role in the triumph. With the win, the Fireflies improved to 88-43.

The Fireflies got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Alfredo Lopez. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Fireflies.

"It's not about individual awards," Lopez told a Columbia Daily News reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
