The Hagerstown Suns besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Delmarva center fielder Jamari Burney by beating the Shorebirds, 9-7, at Municipal Stadium. Burney went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Eric Staat picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Donte Reed, who is tied for 5th in the SAL in quality starts with 16, was tagged with the loss. Chad Klausman earned save number 20 this season.

Third Baseman Jake Agrusa made an impact for Hagerstown, when he swatted a bases-clearing triple off Donte Reed in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Agrusa was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Chris Schneider.

The Suns sport a record of 87-44.
