Legends Come Up Short at Hagerstown, 2-1
|
Alex Azucena was masterful in helping the Hagerstown Suns take down the Lexington Legends, 2-1. Azucena yielded 1 run over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-11. The save went to Daniel Gil, number 15 for him.
Hagerstown third baseman Tony Pulido contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Suns ahead, 2-0.
Pulido said his team "played with a purpose."
The Suns raised their record to 49-83.
