Andino Stars in 11-9 Legends Win
|
In a high-scoring game between Lexington and Greenville, second baseman Fernando Andino was a difference-maker. The 22-year-old helped Lexington grab the 11-9 win. He went 4 for 7 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Lexington is now 95-38, Greenville 59-74.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Victor Suris came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Greenville pitcher Alexis Cordova, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Lexington on top, 10-9.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Andino told the Lexington Gazette.
