Crawdads Rally For 7-6 Win
In a tight contest at NewBridge Bank Park, the Hickory Crawdads edged the Greensboro Grasshoppers by the score of 7-6. Hickory catcher Aaron Cote, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. Hickory reliever Randy Roberts picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Melvin Vasquez was saddled with the loss. The Crawdads saw their win-loss record go to 70-64. At the same time, the Grasshoppers fell to 19-115.

John Parker went 1 for 4 with a walk for Hickory. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Melvin Vasquez. It was his 15th RBI of the season.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Rafael Tercero, the Hickory skipper. "This one tested us."
