Tourists Keep Streak Alive With 3-1 Win
|
The Asheville Tourists, despite a fine performance by Greenville pitcher Armando Lopez, grabbed a 3-1 win at Fluor Field at the West End. Lopez allowed 3 runs over 8 innings. The 84-51 Tourists have won 10 games in a row.
Asheville used a clutch at-bat from Brandon Peeples to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tourists ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Asheville manager Jarrod Dryman.
