The West Virginia Power besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Lakewood first baseman Ivan Allende by beating the BlueClaws, 4-3, at Appalachian Power Park. Allende was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. West Virginia pitcher Nate Scrivens earned the win, hiking his record to 6-4. Chris Pasquini suffered the loss. The first-place Power are now 88-48, the BlueClaws 60-76.

Luis Leon was the walk-off hero for West Virginia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Power first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"If you chase it, you need to get it," said West Virginia skipper Jose Minera.
