Shorebirds Claim 4-2 Win
|
The Delmarva Shorebirds defeated the West Virginia Power, 4-2, in South Atlantic League action at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Delmarva pitcher Jose Savala had a standout performance. The second-place Shorebirds bumped their record to 86-50.
The Shorebirds got a big at-bat from second baseman Oscar Vega. For the game, Vega went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Delmarva a 2-0 lead.
Said losing manager Luis Zamora: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
