Legends Stick Drive with 6-1 Loss
|
The Lexington Legends went home winners at Fluor Field at the West End, thanks in large part to starter Alonzo Araujo. Araujo stifled the Greenville Drive, enabling Lexington to grab the 6-1 win. Araujo, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. At 73-64, the Legends find themselves in second place in the Southern Division.
Lexington used the clutch hitting of Antonio Ventura to snag the win. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Legends ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"I think it just wasn't our night," said Greenville skipper Joey Many.
