Scott Silences West Virginia Bats
The Hickory Crawdads picked up a win at L.P. Frans Stadium, knocking off the West Virginia Power, 3-0. Starting pitcher Walt Scott played a key role in the triumph. With the win, Hickory upped its record to 73-65.

Scott, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 8-7. In 8.1 innings of work, Scott gave up no runs on 2 hits, while racking up 14 Ks. He kept the Power punchless, offensively.

"I liked his command," said Hickory manager Rafael Tercero. "Walt was throwing strikes."
