Suns Handed 2-0 Loss by West Virginia
|
The Power faced a stiff challenge from Hagerstown pitcher Chris Wells, but persevered to claim a win at Appalachian Power Park. The final score was 2-0. Wells went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Blake Birch claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 3-1. Jason Bingham collected save number 14.
The Power got a big at-bat from first baseman Jadon Harper. For the game, Harper went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 26th double of the season gave West Virginia a 1-0 lead.
"We're on quite a roll right now," said Harper.
The second-place Power hiked their record to 92-46.
