GreenJackets Defeat Tourists, 3-2

The Augusta GreenJackets finished things off in style.
The Augusta GreenJackets faced a tough opponent in Asheville pitcher Justin White, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Lake Olmstead Stadium by a final score of 3-2. White went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belongs to Alberto Vasquez in relief. His record improves to 8-4. Jim Baker took the loss for Asheville.
The GreenJackets relied on first baseman Jeff Reed for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
Reed said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
Augusta has an impressive 98-40 record.
