The Drive grabbed a win, 4-1, at Fluor Field at the West End, overcoming a fine effort from Asheville pitcher Adam Tripoli. Tripoli went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Eli Villarreal saved it for Greenville. The Drive go to 55-83 with the win.
The Drive got a big at-bat from left fielder Tony Hernandez. For the game, Hernandez went 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Greenville a 1-0 lead.
In postgame remarks, Hernandez applauded his team's "business-like approach."
