With catcher Tyler Terry leading the charge, the Staten Island Yankees defeated the Lowell Spinners, 8-4, at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. Terry went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Mike McChesney, the 4th overall pick in the 2111 draft, was the winner. He's now 2-0. The loser was Mario Rendon. Tony Austin got credit for the save for Staten Island. It was his 1st of the year.

Alex Curiel aided the Staten Island cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the second. For the game, the center fielder went 1-4 with a walk.

"There's so many different ways you can win a game," said winning manager Erik Bowman.

The Yankees, now 6-0, have stormed out of the gates.
