Crowell Tames Yankees
|
Connecticut took on Staten Island in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Robby Crowell, in particular, was fantastic. The Connecticut right-hander helped his team snag the win, 2-1. The win takes Connecticut to 5-1.
Crowell, who dominated for Connecticut, earned the victory to move to 2-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 7. Staten Island batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Tyler Ebert.
