Black Bears Pick Up 4-3 Win Over Batavia
The West Virginia Black Bears had to overcome a fine effort from Batavia pitcher Henry Vielma to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Dwyer Stadium. Vielma went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jason Burgin closed it out for his 1st save. West Virginia is now 1-5.

West Virginia needed the clutch hitting of Nick Schulz to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Black Bears on top, 4-3. For the game, Schulz had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Schulz after the game.
