Tri-City registered a win at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium by beating the Williamsport Crosscutters, 2-0. Pitcher Bill Wood was one reason why the ValleyCats triumphed. Wood yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 10. His record improves to 1-0. The win has Tri-City at 3-4.

The ValleyCats got a big at-bat from shortstop Kyle Rieder. For the game, Rieder was 2 for 3 with a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Tri-City a 1-0 lead.
