The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

Connecticut got a decent performance from pitcher Stephen Hightower, but it wasn't enough to beat the Brooklyn Cyclones. Brooklyn won the Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium contest, 4-3. Hightower threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Dave Montoya earned the save for Brooklyn, his 1st of the year.

Adrian Jones helped out the Brooklyn cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder was 1-4.

"We were the better team," crowed Jones.

With the loss, Connecticut is 3-5.
