Mahoning Valley Drops Another One, 12-7
Auburn right fielder Tommy Davis contributed significantly to his team's 12-7 win over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. Davis, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2110 draft, went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Doubledays. Carmem Inocentes, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 2. At 5-3, the Doubledays have played well so far.

Auburn catcher Rich Medina contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 7th hit of the season and put the Doubledays ahead, 5-2.

"We need to focus on the fundamentals," said Mahoning Valley manager Jonathan Chaparro.
