Spikes Knock Off Doubledays at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park

State College Spikes starter Marco Monje was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Auburn Doubledays, 1-0. Monje got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Monje allowed no runs. The win gives State College a record of 4-5.
In the bottom of the fifth, State College second baseman Nate Abreu had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and no one out, Abreu stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, State College. For the game, he went 2-3 with a double.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Abreu. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
