Muckdogs Down Crosscutters, 3-0
|
Batavia Muckdogs starter Henry Vielma was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Williamsport Crosscutters, 3-0. Vielma, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The save went to Cory Lankford, number 2 for him.
Batavia used the timely hitting of Cody Naylor to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Muckdogs on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I had everything working," said Vielma.
Williamsport now is 8-3.
