Tri-City ValleyCats starter Brett Babe turned a whale of an effort into a win over the Staten Island Yankees. The final score was 4-1, Tri-City. Losses have been rare for the Yankees, who are now 9-3.

Babe was charged with 1 run on 3 hits over 9 innings for the ValleyCats. With the win, the 6-foot-1 , 195-pound right-hander goes to 1-0.

"Brett had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Tri-City manager Eddie DiGiovine.
