With 2-1 Win, Muckdogs Improve to 7-5
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Batavia Muckdogs eventually prevailed.
In a low-scoring game between the Batavia Muckdogs and the Aberdeen Ironbirds, pitcher Gregg Porowski was masterful on the mound. The Batavia right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Porowski, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 run.
Scott McMinn had a direct impact on the outcome. McMinn contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Batavia up, 2-0.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said McMinn.
The loss drops the Ironbirds to 7-5.
