Victory Pushes Crosscutters Record to 8-5
The Tri-City ValleyCats got a superb performance from pitcher Heath Hogan, but the Williamsport Crosscutters still won the game, 7-2. Hogan threw 8.2 innings of 6-hit ball. The winning pitcher was Nick Carson. He tossed 112 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. With the loss, Tri-City falls to 6-7.

Williamsport used a well-timed hit by Ben Purpura to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Crosscutters ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Tri-City skipper Pat Bredahl.
