Doubledays Losing Streak at 6 After Extra-Inning Loss to Scrappers
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers and Auburn Doubledays put on quite a show.

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers picked up a win at Falcon Park, knocking off the Auburn Doubledays, 6-2. On the mound for Mahoning Valley was right-hander Nicol Reijnders, who played a pivotal role in the win. Mahoning Valley reliever Antonio Zaragoza was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Pedro Hernandez.

Mahoning Valley used the timely hitting of Jonathan Stewart to capture the win. The center fielder socked a grand slam home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Scrappers ahead, 6-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We had a nice day," said Mahoning Valley skipper Mike McCormick.

Mahoning Valley is now 11-2.
