The Connecticut Tigers topped the Lowell Spinners, 11-3, at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. Connecticut center fielder Luis Cruz was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. So far, the 2109 season has been disappointing for Lowell, now 4-9.

Mike O'Neal, who is tied for 2nd in the NYP with a .674 slugging percentage, helped out the Connecticut cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 times.
