Renegades Defeat Cyclones, 7-5
|
The Hudson Valley Renegades cut down the Brooklyn Cyclones by the score of 7-5 in 10 innings. Much of the credit went to first baseman Mike Gilmore. Gilmore hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Renegades. Dave Zapata, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. Brooklyn, now 4-11, continues its tough start.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Gilmore hit a curveball from Dave Ives for a 2-run home run. The Renegades, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Renegades manager Marquise Woods.
