Black Bears Tagged with 4-0 Loss
|
Mahoning Valley starter Tony Reyes kept the West Virginia offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his sinker in leading the Scrappers to a 4-0 win. The winner was Reyes. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Israel Gonzalez. With the victory, the Scrappers record stands at 12-5.
Chris Cole took West Virginia hurler Israel Gonzalez deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Scrappers on top, 2-0. In all, Cole had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"That was a really good outing by Tony," said Mahoning Valley manager Ramiro Tobar.
