Win Goes to Cyclones in Tight Contest
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones needed 10 innings to defeat the Hudson Valley Renegades, 6-2, at Dutchess Stadium. Brooklyn left fielder John Rice had a superb performance. He went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Brooklyn is now 15-4. Hudson Valley is 8-11.
Eddie Herrera came through with a big-time hit for Brooklyn. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Hudson Valley manager George Woolbright.
