Victory Over ValleyCats Takes Vermont to 13-7
Vermont Lake Monsters starter Sam Roy was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats, 5-0. Roy got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. The Lake Monsters are now 13-7.

Vermont used a clutch at-bat from Angel Diaz to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Roy. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
