The Connecticut Tigers downed the Vermont Lake Monsters, 8-5. The hitting star was center fielder Brian Martin. Martin went 3-5 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Tigers. The winner in relief was Brian Barrett. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Danny Reyes recorded the save for Connecticut, his 1st of the season.

Martin had a game-changing double in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 changeup from Crispino Traversari, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Tigers a 6-5 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Martin.

Martin told a Connecticut Daily News reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.

The Tigers sit in last place in the Stedler Division with a record of 8-14.
