Molisani, Spikes March to 6-3 Victory
The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The State College Spikes handed the Mahoning Valley Scrappers a 6-3 defeat at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. First Baseman Ben Molisani starred for State College. He went 4-4 with a home run, a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Joe Stratton, who is tied for 4th in the NYP in quality starts with 3, was the winner. He's now 3-1. The loser was Bobby Shuff. Derrek Romeo notched his 4th save of the season.

Molisani had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 splitter from Bobby Shuff, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Spikes a 3-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Molisani.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Spikes manager Paul Thomas.

With the win, State College upped its record to 12-10.
