Black Bears Capture Extra-Inning Win
|
Black Bears fans were treated to an exciting walk-off win.
In a low-scoring tilt between the West Virginia Black Bears and the Auburn Doubledays, 21-year old right-handed pitcher Jose Diaz was the difference-maker. The West Virginia right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 10 innings. West Virginia raised its record to 12-10 with the win.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when West Virginia left fielder Marcos Garza, facing Chris Corbett, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Black Bears the 3-2 win.
"Big win," said Garza.
