Matt Postlethwaite never let the Doubledays get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Black Bears to a win, 1-0. Postlethwaite got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Auburn is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.

Tied up with the Doubledays in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Black Bears got a boost from first baseman Justin Cantrell. With the bases loaded, Cantrell saw a 1-1 fastball from Bobby Vazquez and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put West Virginia on top, 1-0.

"It's going to click," said Auburn manager Maxwell Judson. "It's just a matter of when."
