Tigers Reel-In 4-2 Win Over Crosscutters
|
Tigers left fielder Carlos Sandoval put his stamp on his team's 4-2 win over the Williamsport Crosscutters. Sandoval was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles for Connecticut in the contest. Juan Colon snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Tom Fetherolf suffered the loss. Victor Mejia closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from center fielder Jay Bormann. For the game, Bormann went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Connecticut a 1-0 lead.
After the game, Connecticut manager Sean Raymond applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The second-place Tigers improved to 12-11.
