The Connecticut Tigers picked up a win at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium, knocking off the State College Spikes, 5-4. Starting pitcher Jose Perez played a key role in the triumph. Perez picked up the win for Connecticut, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Connecticut now has a record of 16-9 with the win.

Steve Lee dealt the Spikes a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Connecticut leading 4-3, Lee hit a 2-2 changeup for a run-scoring single.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Lee told the Connecticut Gazette. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
