The Brooklyn Cyclones did just enough to sneak past the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, 3-2, at MCU Park. Brooklyn pitcher Nick Lynch, in particular, had a standout performance. Brooklyn now sits at 15-11, while Mahoning Valley falls to 19-7.

Jamie Burks, who is tied for 3rd in the NYP in home runs with 5, helped out the Brooklyn cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder went 1-2 with 2 walks.

"Fun game," said Burks, "even when the outcome was in doubt."
