Black Bears Earn 4-3 Win Against Yankees
West Virginia starter Travis Anderson pitched well against the Staten Island Yankees at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 12 innings. Shawn McMindes sewed up the save, his 2nd. The Black Bears improved their record to 15-11 with the win over Staten Island.

Ryan Faulkner, who is tied for 4th in the NYP in stolen bases with 10, had a direct impact on the outcome. Faulkner contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put West Virginia up, 3-0.

Faulkner called getting the win a "good ending to a long game."
