Getting a good performance from designated hitter Cory DeBaun, the Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the Lowell Spinners, 8-2. DeBaun hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Cyclones. Steve Voltz picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-2 on the season. He struck out 8 and walked 1 in 5.1 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Matt Lowe notched his 2nd save of the season.

Dan Dellinger had a big 2-run double for the Cyclones in the bottom of the first inning. With Brooklyn leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Steve Pulaski and swatted a double to left. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cyclones ahead, 3-0.

"Things kind of got away from us," said Lowell skipper Ramon Barragan.

Yes, it was a win for Brooklyn; but their 9-18 record is still nothing to boast about.
