In a low-scoring contest between the Auburn Doubledays and the Connecticut Tigers, Billy Lantry, who is tied for 5th in the NYP in wins with 3, proved to be the difference. The Auburn right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Doubledays win. By defeating Connecticut, the 4th-place Doubledays improved to 9-18.

Enrique Alamilla hit a 2-run home run off John Brennan in the bottom of the second, which put the Doubledays ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Alamilla had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.

"That was awesome. Really, really impressive, what Billy did," said Auburn manager Maxwell Judson.
