Williamsport right-hander Ivan Torres pitched his team to victory over the Brooklyn Cyclones at MCU Park. The final score was 3-1. Mike Sweigart picked up the save for Williamsport, his 1st of the year. The Crosscutters, now 18-9, know that wins in July count the same as wins in September.

Williamsport used a well-timed hit by Pat Garrett to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Crosscutters ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Williamsport manager Will Walsh said.
