Renegades Defeated, 2-1, After Connecticut Rallies
|
Connecticut Tigers starter Francisco Nieves turned in a top-notch performance against the Hudson Valley Renegades at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The result was a win for the Tigers, 2-1. Victor Mejia, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Connecticut goes to 15-13, Hudson Valley to 13-15.
Chris Snider hit a 2-run home run off Brian Sarchet in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Tigers ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Snider had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"Francisco was in attack mode," said Connecticut manager Sean Raymond.
