Bigley Helps Ironbirds Defeat Black Bears, 5-3
With first baseman Luke Bigley leading the charge, the Aberdeen Ironbirds defeated the West Virginia Black Bears, 5-3, at Russell Diethrick Park. Bigley, who is tied for 5th in the NYP in stolen bases with 8, was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Tom Mitchell snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Brian Barnes suffered the loss. With the win, the Ironbirds improved to 16-12.

Bigley had a timely hit for Aberdeen in the top of the ninth. With Aberdeen trailing 3-2, he turned a first pitch cutter into a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season, making it 5-3, Aberdeen.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Aberdeen manager Josh Ouderkirk. "It's usually not just one thing."
