Doubledays Beat Black Bears, 4-1
Auburn Doubledays starter Brenden Allison was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the West Virginia Black Bears, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Allison, now 2-3. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Chad Klausman closed out the game, earning his 1st save.

Dirk Shreve had a big 2-run home run for the Doubledays in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Auburn leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a cutter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Bruce Murphy and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Doubledays on top, 4-0.

"I can't say enough about Brenden," said Auburn manager Carlos Lugo. "He stepped up when we needed him."

The Doubledays win now puts them at 12-16.
