The rain did not keep Aberdeen and Batavia from finishing their game.

The Ironbirds grabbed a win, 6-5, at Dwyer Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Batavia pitcher Roberto Marcial. Marcial went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Earning his 7th save of the year was Josh Devlin.

Mario Aguilera drove in one run for Aberdeen. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, Aguilera had a clutch at-bat. Facing Batavia hurler Sergio Ortega, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Ironbirds a 6-5 lead.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Aguilera.

Their 20-9 record puts the Ironbirds first in the McNamara Division.
